| George Orwell. Famous guy. Probably read him already. Animal Farm or 1984. Aldous Huxley. Brave New World. Probably read that one too. JRR Tolkien. Hobbit, LotR. Or you could go way back and read 1800s sort of stuff, Charles Dickens, etc.
More modern "literary" stuff: Neil Gaiman: American Gods. Neverwhere. | |

| It's a shame you can't use American authors, otherwise you could've had Cell or The Long Walk by Stephen King.
Stephen King is the greatiest author ever, without a doubt.
As for a book by a British novelist, Children of Men by P. D. James. Cool novel. | |

| In that case, I like Oxygen by Andrew Miller a lot. Fairly new, 2001, I think. I wrote an essay on it three years ago and got an A for it, would've gotten an A* but I wasn't "selective" enough | |
